eating chocolate

For many, eating chocolate is truly a passion and an art. In order to truly enjoy the exquisite and complex flavors found in Green & Black’s chocolate, try some of these simple techniques to maximize your chocolate eating experience:

Start with a Clean Palate

Our taste buds adapt very quickly, so in order to truly capture the taste of good chocolate, it’s very important to begin with a clean palate. Eating sugary foods or bitters, such as coffee, will cause taste buds to overload, making it impossible to enjoy the true flavor of the chocolate. Try drinking something neutral, such as hot water, to cleanse your palate prior to chocolate tasting.

Savor the Flavor, Slowly

We’re all in agreement that chocolate is delicious and it’s difficult not to eat it quickly. In order to truly enjoy the variety of flavors, take your time. Solid chocolates do take longer to be absorbed by taste buds. If it is quickly swallowed, most of the flavor will be lost. Place a piece of Green & Black’s chocolate on your tongue and let is melt slowly. Enjoy the velvety texture and allow your palate to take in the full flavor.

Experiment

Green & Black’s offers a wide variety of different chocolates. From White to Milk to Dark 85% chocolate, we have a broad range of different tastes and flavors. Most people are very familiar with traditional milk chocolate, but don’t be afraid to branch out. If you are unfamiliar with the darker varieties of chocolates, we recommend starting with Milk and working your way up to our stronger, more intense flavors. The higher the intensity of the chocolate, the lower the sugar content. As always, to gain the most flavor, let the chocolate slowly melt in your mouth.
