Karina has been part of the Green & Black's family for nearly ten years. As the original technical manager, Karina brought with her a unique blend of industry experience coupled with a passion for organic foods and standards to Green & Black's. As a member of the seminal team in Portobello Road she has witnessed the company and Craig's organic vision grow from a small niche business into a luxury brand name.

Green & Black's prides itself on cultivating and maintaining close working relationships with its growers and manufacturing partners. As Technical Manager, Karina has a close working relationship with Micah in supporting product development and ensuring production standards are upheld to the Soil Association's Standards. She frequently travels to manufacturing sites abroad to inspect, assess and learn about how our marvellous chocolate is made. Karina visits our chocolate factories so regularly that the local staff know her on a first name basis!

Karina and the Technical Team liaise with Neil and our growers to manage the traceability of our supplies in ensuring that only fine quality organic cocoa beans of a choice variety are used for our chocolate. Karina also works with our suppliers to transform Micah's mouth-watering recipes through monitoring quality by organised tasting and testing of products to ensure that Green & Black's lofty standards are delivered to the customer.

Before working at Green & Black's Karina studied and worked in the food industry and is passionate about organic standards and food in general — like the rest of the team. A stickler for detail, Karina uses this skill to ensure that the labelling and product descriptions which are a very important aspect of our brand are in compliance with the law. She also believes to have had the first true Green & Black's baby as her daughter was fed a healthy diet of chocolate whilst in the womb, which has done her no harm at all!
